A vessel that holds both
food ingredients and visual identity

Josuri Mill is a small mill that produces grain-based products in Jeju Island, Korea. It specializes in locally-grown sesame seeds and sesame oil. We were asked to design a logo and label for their grain and oil products.

The mill is a part of a restaurant, The Finland in Jeju, whose logo is organically included in the label as the die-cut shape of the house.

It was the production process, from growing sesame to making oil, as important as the authentic quality of their products. Therefore, we focused on the tools that were closely used by the oil maker. The generous roundness of the vessels was the foundation of the logo typeface.

Those round-shape vessel are the main components of product making process. The typeface has been shaped around them.
